New York's Third Party Notification for the Elderly & Disabled
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that certain taxpayers may designate an adult third party to receive duplicate copies of tax bills and notices of unpaid taxes.
Pursuant to Real Property Tax Law, Section 922(1-a):
· A taxpayer who is 65 or older, or disabled, who owns and occupies a one, two or three family residential property is eligible for a third party notification procedure
· An eligible taxpayer who wishes to participate must file an application on Form RP-923 designating an adult party to receive notification
· The designated third party must consent to such notification
· The application form may be obtained from the New Hartford Village Clerk’s office
· The application form must be filed with the New Hartford Village Clerk before December 31, 2023 to be effective for the ensuing year.
